  Doctor’s Woodshop High Build Friction Polish is the new version of the classic oil/shellac polish but with walnut oil replacing the boiled linseed oil. When applied to a spinning workpiece’s surface with a soft paper towel, this high build friction polish dries quickly, producing a hard lustrous finish. It can also serve as a good base coat for a lacquer finish. Apply at slow speed to cover the surface and then switch to high-speed buffing to speed up the curing process. For multiple coats, allow to cool between coats. This polish can also be used for French polishing furniture and cabinetry. The heat of the friction polishing drives the oil into the wood, sets the shellac and melts the wax, allowing it to flow over the surface of the wood and produce a high luster shine. The microcrystal wax topcoat has superior light transmission. This all translates into a bright shine and greater water resistance, which makes it a great finish for pens, pepper mills and anything else that will receive incidental water contact and needs a hard, durable finish.

  Doctor’s Woodshop Walnut Finishing Oil can be used in two ways. First it can be used as a finish; simply apply the finishing oil and wipe or drain off any excess. The oil will be drawn into the wood and in time will harden to a durable, easily restored finish. The second use is as an aid in sanding. A few drops of the oil applied to the workpiece as it is sanded will speed up the sanding process significantly. The oil absorbs the sawdust and forms a sort of rubbing compound that smooths the wood faster than sawdust alone. A few drops of oil while sanding with every grit will speed up the sanding process and improve your results.

  Doctor’s Woodshop Pens Plus Wood Finish is a walnut oil and shellac friction polish combined with microaggregated microcrystal wax – Cosmolloid 80H. The microaggregation process produces wax particles so small that they behave like a liquid. The heat of the friction polishing drives the oil into the wood, sets the shellac, and melts the wax, allowing it to flow over the surface of the wood and produce a high luster shine. This microcrystal wax topcoat has superior light transmission.
