Good kit, just too small
Not being a Cigar aficionado myself, I don't know, what I don't know. I saw this kit & picked it up for my son. I made it and presented it to him only to find out that the diameter isn't large enough to accommodate the high end cigars that he smokes. I see from the other reviews that I am not alone & I should have investigated this before I bought. Just trying to prevent someone else from making the same mistake. The kit is high quality & I love the Gun Metal finish. As mentioned in another review, one would think a kit like this would be created for high end cigars.

Too small, poor instructions
The tubes prove too small for higher end cigars. Plus, the upper tubes ended up needing a 21.5mm drill bit, not a 21mm drill bit as the instructions called for. Really need to drill blanks on the lathe so you may need additional hardware to build these kits well.

First Three Failed Miserably...
I was very excited when I saw this product on the shelf. First 3 attempts failed miserably for various reasons: Problem drilling a hole that wide & long; First choice of wood split at the end-game; Bad batch of CA wouldn't harden as well as accelerator causing blotches in the finish. Finally got one through to completion and found it's diameter is WAY too small to handle high-end cigars...and it's the high-end cigar smoker who will want to buy one of these babies. Will there be larger kits coming out soon? Sure hope so... Does anyone have any hints or best practices I might employ to have more success?

Too small for high-end cigars!!!
This would be a good kit if the size were increased. I turn pens and other items and make humidors. I thought these would add another item with the humidors, but they are WAY too small for the average high-end cigars.
