Forged in the pattern of the traditional Swedish Hjärtum-Axe, the Carpenter’s relatively broad blade is almost straight and has a double beveled cut. The thin and finely ground blade provides precision and enables carving. This axe is intended for use in dried wood. The concave shape between the handle and the edge allows a closer grip. In this position the axe can be used as a chisel or a large knife. With the straight handle and the flat neck this axe can be used as a hammer – but never use it on steel.
CAUTION: Remember there is always a risk to hit steel against steel – there can be steel splinters that damage an eye, for example! Use protective glasses and suitable workwear! Make sure the edges on both wedge and maul are kept beveled!
The axe blade is hand-forged Swedish carbon specially alloyed steel with an HRC57 edge hardness, and the handle is American hickory. Axe comes with a vegetable tanned, locally produced, leather sheath and a 20-year warranty. Made in Sweden.
