Les Stroud, award-winning Canadian producer and star of the hit TV series Survivorman on the Discovery Channel in the US, teamed with Wetterlings to design this Bushman Axe. Stroud is the only producer in the history of television to produce an internationally broadcast series entirely written, videotaped and hosted alone.
The Bushman is multifunctional and intended for use in many different wilderness situations. Apart from felling and limbing smaller trees, the Bushman Axe also is handy when chopping firewood because it has a slightly broader and wedge-shaped head. The axe also has a hammer neck. The axe blade is hand-forged Swedish carbon specially alloyed steel with an HRC57 edge hardness, and the handle is American hickory. Axe comes with a vegetable tanned, locally produced, leather sheath and a 20-year warranty. Approximately 2 lbs., 3.3 oz. total weight; 22" overall length with a 3" face. Made in Sweden.
CAUTION: Remember there is always a risk to hit steel against steel – there can be steel splinters that damage an eye, for example! Use protective glasses and suitable workwear! Make sure the edges on both wedge and maul are kept beveled!
