      Nice Stock

This wood is very nice for a dark brown to black pen. It resembles dark walnut with black grain on lighter pieces, but most of the ones that I received were nearly black in color. Works and finishes well. I have not had any cracking or tear out so far. Picture attached.

      Impressive Blackwood

The wood turns nice the black color does not go all the way through all pieces but it is consistant enough to turn a nice black pen.

      Beautiful piece of wood

My previous review is in Error. That review is for the diagnal cut burmese blackwood. This wood is very nice, Easy to work with, Takes a great polish. Although the piece I got is so dark, you have to look closely to see any grain. Everybody loves the fountain pen I made from it.

      nice look and feel

1st piece ripped a chunk half the length of the tube when about 3/4 of the way ground down. requires a very light touch, as try to remove to much material at once results in pitting or large pieces being ripped off. However, with a light touch, and sharp tools, the piece takes a really good finish prior to any Samsung.
