Black Dog: the signature color of Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint. A true, deep velvety black that can be use on its own or be mixed with any of our other colors to create a deeper hue or shade.

Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint is a water-based, low VOC, matte finish paint originally developed for the Black Dog Salvage custom design shop. The goal was to create a safe and easy to use paint that is customizable for furniture projects. Made in small batches in Madison, Ohio, on the shores of Lake Erie, this paint line features 16 pre-mixed colors, including a true black and white, affording you the ability to mix custom tints and shades. There is no limit to the colors you can create.

Black Dog Furniture Paint dries to a velvety, smooth, matte finish and can be used on a multitude of surfaces, including glass, metal, wood, and ceramics. It can be applied over paint, varnish, lacquer, or poly. Apply the paint to a clean, smooth surface using either the brush of your choice or a paint sprayer. Easily create distressed effects, washes, or bright bold contemporary finishes with our expandable palette.

All colors are available in Quarts, PintPlus™ and Half-Pint sizes. Made in the USA.

Drying time is approximately 1-2 hours under ideal conditions: 70° with 25%-50% relative humidity.

Coverage is approximately 150 sq. ft. for the Quart size, 79 sq. ft. for the PintPlus™ size, and 37 sq. ft. for the Half-Pint size.
