5½ Folding Joinery Saw has a rigid spline and is designed for miter and cross cuts in hard as well as soft woods. And like all Japanese saws it cuts on the pull stroke. The blade is hand finished with 28 teeth/inch. The teeth are finely set for smooth, tear free cuts. They are triple chip ground and hardened to ensure a sharp, long lasting edge. For safety, the blade locks into the open position during use - then conveniently folds into the handle for storage. Folded length is 8˝ and overall length is 15˝. The blade thickness is 0.012˝ with a kerf of 0.014˝. The handle is made from Bubinga hardwood with a smooth, polished finish.
