Intro To The Woodshop

Are you new to woodworking? Want to brush up on basic skills? The instructor will teach how to safely use the essential power tools in any woodshop. Students will learn how to set up cuts and operate a table saw, planer, jointer, band saw, miter saw, and drill press. These skills will be put into practice to create a charcuterie board which can proudly be shown off to family and friends. On day two go beyond the basics and create a beautiful slide top keepsake box! You will practice skills learned in order to gain confidence using essential power tools. Use this foundation to accomplish your woodworking project goals. Note: A $20 materials fee (cash or Venmo) will be collected by the instructor at time of class.

Inlays Part 1: Lines & Circles

Boost the value of your pieces by helping them stand out from the rest! Using a router and drill press, this class will demonstrate how simple geometric shapes can spark curiosity and give your work another dimension. If you're interested in giving your woodworking projects a strong visual impact, then this class is for you. Note: A $25 materials fee (cash or Square) will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of class.

Tiny Dwellings: Beginning Bark-House Carving

Sunday, August 2, 2026, 10 AM - 4 PM

Interested in bark carving? Learn how to turn rugged slabs of locally foraged cottonwood bark into whimsical woodland cottages. With expert guidance, you’ll practice essential knife and gouge techniques to shape flaky bark into doorways, shingled roofs, chimneys, and stone‑look textures. You’ll leave with a completed 4"–6" bark house and the confidence to keep carving on your own. Loaner carving tools are provided by Woodcraft, and additional materials will be available for purchase. Note: A $5 materials fee (cash preferred) will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of class.
