The basic F-Style clamp has been around for a long time. That's because it works. Bessey thought it could work better though. They moved the handle from the end of the jaw to the bar, allowing the jaws to fit into tighter spaces. The gearing between the handle and the clamp face allow you to get more clamping pressure with less force required to turn the handle.
