Participants will learn the fundamentals of knife handle construction, including grain orientation, scale layout, shaping, fitting, sanding, and finishing techniques. Using woodworking tools and abrasives, students will transform rough wood into a comfortable, attractive handle that showcases the unique character of the month's featured wood. By the end of class, each student will leave with a completed, functional knife and a solid understanding of the techniques used to create custom wooden knife handles.
