Are you interested in woodworking? This one-day, hands-on class is perfect for beginners who want to explore the art and skill of woodworking. Learn how to safely use power tools like the planer, bandsaw, table saw, miter saw, and drill press. You’ll put your new skills into practice by building a beautiful keepsake box! Build confidence and gain foundational knowledge to tackle woodworking projects independently in the future. Note: $20 materials fee (cash or Venmo) is payable to the instructor at the start of the class.

Tiny Dwellings: Beginning Bark-House Carving

Sunday, July 12, 2026, 10 AM - 4 PM

Interested in bark carving? Learn how to turn rugged slabs of locally foraged cottonwood bark into whimsical woodland cottages. With expert guidance, you’ll practice essential knife and gouge techniques to shape flaky bark into doorways, shingled roofs, chimneys, and stone‑look textures. You’ll leave with a completed 4"–6" bark house and the confidence to keep carving on your own. Loaner carving tools are provided by Woodcraft, and additional materials will be available for purchase. Note: A $5 materials fee (cash preferred) will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of class.

Have you ever seen a beautiful serving piece and thought, “I could make that with a little instruction”? In this hands‑on class, you’ll design and build a custom turntable centerpiece while learning how to lay out simple, colorful patterns using a combination of hardwoods. With your instructor’s guidance, you’ll use power tools to mill your material, assemble the tray, and install the provided turntable mechanism, along with several techniques for adding personal touches and choosing a durable finish. These skills apply to many future projects, and you’ll leave with an eye‑catching turntable that turns heads and gives you the satisfaction of a handmade piece you’ll be proud to use and display. Note: a $35 materials fee is due to the instructor first night of the class (cash or Square).
