This course is designed to expand the student's skill set through 2 useful projects: A Spin Top to demonstrate the use of the chatter tool and a Small Lidded Box to learn end grain hollowing, fitting lids/tenons, and chucking. These techniques will have wide application in your future woodturning projects.
This is a great class to learn basic end grain hollowing and hollow form design techniques. You will complete two projects: a small open end grain vase and a hollow enclosed vase with a small opening at the top of the piece. During the class, you will learn how to prep, mount, shape and finish your items. A class prerequisite is at least one full day turning class such as spindle or bowl turning.
In our Router Basics class, you'll delve into the fundamentals of using a woodworking router with precision and creativity while you make a Catch All for your keys and pocket change. Whether you're a novice woodworker or looking to expand your skills, this course is designed for you. Using your router to create projects gets a little easier with a jig or template. We’ll walk you through the basics how to rout with a template.
Keeping your bits and blades clean makes for cleaner cuts. Join us as we step through how to remove the buildup on your bits and blades.
