Woodworking Project Paper Plan to Build Mission Couch/Futon
Details
This futon frame is designed to convert easily from a comfortable sofa to a queen size bed without being moved away from the wall -- a very unique feature. The construction method enables this piece to be disassembled into several components for easy transportation and the frame can be disassembled, moved, and set up by one person. Wide, comfortable arms with typical Mission style end slats accent the couch. Most cuts on this piece are straight. It is "do-able" by the intermediate who has patience and who pays close attention to detail. The project will require dilligence from anyone because of its size, but the results are a truly heirloom-quality piece of high end furniture.
The full-size blueprint style plan you get comes on four large sheets. All joinery is shown in actual size; curved workpieces are all in full size. You can measure and trace straight from the drawing. A list of materials doubles as an exact cutting list.
NOTE: There is a detailed exploded diagram and all hardware requirements are provided. Project specific assembly instructions are not provided with this style of plans.
