Tauari (Couratari guianensis), also known as Brazilian Oak, is similar to North American Oak, but 13% harder. Colors range from tan to medium brown. Tauari has a straight, medium grain pattern with no clearly differentiated sapwood. Wood is very stable and highly resistant to decay or rot. Machines, sands and finishes well.
