Argentinian Osage Orange (Maclura tinctoria) combines rich golden-orange color with dramatic bands of lighter and darker grain throughout the heartwood. This South American variety tends to retain its distinctive hue over time. The wood is heavy, dense and stable and features a fine to medium texture. Though its hardness can make it challenging to work, it is surprisingly easy on cutting tools and turns well. It also finishes beautifully, polishing to a deep, natural luster. Common uses include furniture, woodturning and fine specialty items. Slab measures 1-1/4" x 15-1/4" x 48" and has been surfaced on both sides.
