Argentinian Osage Orange (Maclura tinctoria) features a rich golden-orange hue accented by striking bands of lighter and darker grain. This South American variety tends to retain its distinctive color over time. Heavy, dense and stable, the wood has a fine to medium texture and is surprisingly easy on cutting tools despite its hardness. It turns well, finishes beautifully and can be polished to a deep, natural luster. Argentinian Osage Orange is commonly used for furniture, woodturning and fine specialty items. This slab measures 1-1/4" x 14-3/4" x 47-1/2" and has been surfaced on both sides.
