Rich golden-orange color gives Argentinian Osage Orange (Maclura tinctoria) its distinctive appearance. This South American variety tends to retain its color over time, while lighter and darker bands throughout the heartwood create striking contrast. The wood is heavy, dense and stable with a fine to medium texture. Its hardness can present a challenge when working with it, yet it is surprisingly easy on cutting tools. It also turns well, finishes beautifully and polishes to a deep, natural luster. Common applications include furniture, woodturning and fine specialty items. The slab measures 1-1/4" x 13" x 45-1/2" and is surfaced on both sides.
