Known for both its color and contrasting grain, Argentinian Osage Orange (Maclura tinctoria) features a rich golden-orange hue that this South American variety tends to retain over time. Bands of lighter and darker grain create dramatic contrast across the heartwood. This heavy, dense and stable wood has a fine to medium texture. Despite its hardness and the challenges it can present when working, it is surprisingly easy on cutting tools. It turns well, finishes beautifully and polishes to a deep, natural luster. Common uses include furniture, woodturning and fine specialty items. This slab is surfaced on both sides and measures 1-1/4" x 13-1/2" x 48-1/4".
