Orange Agate (Platymiscium spp.) is an orange/brown to dark brown colored wood. It can be mistaken for a variation of Cocobolo, but they are not related. This wood is hard, beautifully (open) grained and works and finishes like a dream. Orange Agate is an ideal wood for unique projects both large and small. Common uses include including furniture, veneer, musical instruments, turned objects, and small specialty wood items.
