This African hardwood is generally easy to work and turns well, though its naturally occurring silica content (up to 1.3%) can cause moderate to heavy tool dulling—making sharp tools and regular honing essential. With excellent density and visual appeal, these blanks provide ample material for crafting custom salt and pepper mills using Woodcraft turning kits.
