Bolivian Rosewood (Machaerium scleroxylon), also known as Morado or Santos Rosewood, is a stunning and durable hardwood prized for its rich color and natural luster. The heartwood ranges from violet-brown to deep chocolate with black streaks and subtle violet or purplish hues that darken beautifully over time. The grain is typically straight to slightly interlocked, with a fine to medium texture that polishes to an exceptional sheen.
This wood is dense and stable, yet it machines, turns, and finishes extremely well. Its strength and beauty make it a favorite for fine furniture, cabinetry, musical instruments, and decorative projects where striking figure and long-lasting performance are desired. Slab measures 1-1/4" x 11-1/2" x 47-3/4" and has been surfaced on both sides for immediate use.
