Known for its bold striping and vivid appearance, Bocote (Cordia spp.) ranges in color from yellow brown to dark brown with almost black grain lines. Flatsawn sections often reveal complex, eye-catching figure. While some pieces contain silica, which may wear tools, Bocote generally machines cleanly and glues well despite its natural oils. Found mostly in Mexico and Central/South America, it's prized for high-end furniture, instruments, and specialty items. This piece measures 1-1/4" x 12" x 46" and is surfaced on both faces.
