When laying out shoulders for a joint have you ever wrapped your cut line around all four faces only to find yourself 1/8" from your start position? Transferring a line from one surface to another perpendicular surface with a small square has never been easy...until now. This new saddle square solves the problem by allowing you to scribe two perpendicular surfaces at a time. More importantly, it allows you to pick up on a line already scribed, and accurately transfer it to another face perpendicular to it. With 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" inside legs you can wrap a line around workpieces up to almost double its size. Made of anodized aluminum, 2" wide, with both end faces machined square to within 1/4°.

Features:

• Allows you to scribe two perpendicular surfaces at a time

• Made from anodized aluminum

    Don't buy this!

It's a great dea. It'd be even better if you could actually draw a line on the short side. That side is only 1/8, maybe 3/16" for marking right at the edge. Maybe with a 500 watt light you can see to mark.

After owning one I wouldn' t be without

I use the sguare for a lot of layout work. Accurate marking makes assembly much easier. My recent purchase is for a gift for a young woodworker. I wanted to give him something which I use myself and value highly.

Simple, sturdy, and very, very useful

Any saddle square will quickly become a go-to marking instrument. This one is typically excellent Veritas quality. Strong and accurate. An extra value for framing work, the open center lets you line up on center marks and draw the outline of your 2 x 4 on the two sides without moving. A solid value.

    A Square Deal

Never yet had a Veritas tool that disappointed. Had been using a home made saddle square for years, finally bit the bullet, glad I did.
