Routers and dovetail jigs produce particularly large amounts of dust and chips. Porter-Cable dovetail jig owners can enjoy nearly dust-free routing using the Leigh® VRS1200 Vacuum & Router Support. Dovetail jigs also present a challenge to maintain router balance when moving across the template. If the router does not sit flat while routing, the pins and tails may be poorly formed and not fit properly. This full width router support ensures the router always sits flat for safer, easier and more accurate routing. As an added bonus, the router can be securely parked out of the way when clamping boards in the jig. Everything you need is in the box and no jig modifications are required. The one-time setup takes only 15 minutes. Simply place the beam on the support brackets, set your router over the vacuum dust collection port, and you’re ready to rout without all that dust! The Leigh Vacuum and Router Support works seamlessly with the Porter-Cable 4210, Porter-Cable 4212 and Porter-Cable 4216 dovetail jigs, whether you’re routing through dovetails, half-blind dovetails or box joints.

Earlier this summer, nearly 100 manufacturers gathered at the Woodcraft Vendor Trade Show to share their latest offerings in hand tools, machinery, finishes, and accessories. Here are just few of the items that caught our eye. For more details go to woodcraft.com, or check them out at your local Woodcraft store.
Just my 2 cents...
I debated on buying this only because of the mixed reviews it's received. After setting it up...I can honestly tell you I am glad I got it. Setup , while done once, needs to be done accurately with the set screws the first time. They come supplied with locktite on them, and will never need adjusting again..(or at least I cant see why they would) Also, I've read in some reviews that the sliding part binds and causes serious drag. I DID NOT find this to be true. I use a flexible 2 -1/2 hose hanging perfectly vertical and can hardly even tell I'm moving it back and forth while routing. Slides very nicely. No for the most important part...does it get all the dust. Well, honestly, no. (does any tool?) But I'd say it gets at least 95% of it, Huge improvement over nothing at all when making dovetails with the PC jig. I highly recommend this if you are tired of chips flying at you.
