great on previously shellacked surface
Stripped paint off gumwood fireplace. Stripped shellac with rubbing alcohol. Mixed Transtint into alcohol until I got right depth to make gumwood look like mahogany. Amber shellac, seal coat, and poly finished off the job beautifully. Thank you for carrying this: local hardware store does not.
