The Temple Tool Co. Flush Cut Pull Saw is a specialized hand saw designed to trim protruding parts perfectly flush with surrounding surfaces. Its double-edged blade features dedicated tooth patterns for hardwoods and softwoods, allowing clean, controlled cuts without damaging finished workpieces. The pull-stroke design provides excellent control when trimming dowels, tenons, wedges, plugs and other components that need to sit flush with adjacent surfaces.
Unlike conventional saws, this flush cut saw is made with no tooth set. Most saw teeth are bent outward slightly to create a wider kerf and reduce binding during cutting. While effective for general sawing, that tooth set can scratch the surrounding wood when making flush cuts. By eliminating tooth set and pairing it with a thin, flexible blade, this saw can lie flat against the work surface while cutting protruding material cleanly and accurately.
The 150 mm SK85 Japanese tool steel blade combines flexibility with cutting efficiency. One edge is optimized for hardwoods with 17 TPI teeth, while the opposite edge uses a finer 20 TPI pattern suited for softwoods. Premium brass hardware secures the replaceable blade and allows quick blade changes when needed. The stained beech handle is shaped for comfort and control, providing a secure grip during detailed trimming tasks.
Crafted in Japan, this saw combines traditional Japanese woodworking tools craftsmanship with Temple Tool Co.'s distinctive Western-inspired styling.
