Cherry is a warm pinkish to red toned wood that ages to a nice reddish brown color. It is a hardwood that is easy to work with and strong, with a satiny texture and tight uniform grain. Another common grain characteristic is slight figure or flashing. This veneer will accept stains and finishes well but is usually finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and beauty of the wood’s natural color. This unique size was specially cut to appeal to the wood turners who are doing segmented bowls and want color in the seams between larger pieces. You will be thrilled by the unusual patterns achieved as you turn your bowl or vessel. We have found they also make great additions to cutting boards and other craft projects.
