This one-of-a-kind African Walnut Bird’s-Eye from Ghana has rarely been seen. Its endless figure types in wood are a phenomena. It is suggested that elements such as climate, wind, soil types, grafting, and location all play a part in creating amazing grain patterns in wood. An element or a combination of elements makes a tree which creates a figure type. Descriptions of figure types include angel steps, beeswing, fiddleback, flake, quilt, pomelle, and bird’s-eye, to name a few. These figure types are not indigenous to one species. Each pack contains 3 square feet of unbacked veneer that ranges in size from 4-1/2" to 7-1/2" wide by 12" long – just the right size for marquetry, inlay repair, accents on furniture and other small jobs around the shop.
