Details

Woodworkers use marking knives because a knife line is narrower and more precise than that made by a pencil. In addition, a knife scores the wood, which eliminates any chance of splintering when the joint is cut. A marking knife is sharpened with a single bevel, and in use, the flat side is placed against your straight edge. Since our marking knife has a spear point, it can be used either right or left handed. The 5/8" blade is the perfect size for detailed work, allowing you to make precise markings and cuts with ease. The blade is also tapered, making it easy to get into tight spaces and creating clean, sharp lines.

The blade is hand forged by Master Blacksmith Ikeuchi from a lamination of blue steel and soft steel. Each blade is individually hardened to Rockwell 64 and comes well sharpened. The length is 7-1/4" and the width is 5/8".
