    Details

The Nova DVR Saturn Lathe offers the latest version of Digital Variable Reluctance (DVR) technology. The DVR is a direct drive motor, no belts, pulleys, brushes or electrical connections to moving parts, as well as no current flow to the rotor, meaning less wear and tear on the motor and longer life for the user. The single casting headstock increases strength and reduces vibration, and the new generation microchip enables faster processing of electronic information necessary to control shaft speed. The circuitry on the Saturn is sensitive enough that it senses abnormal cutting conditions and adjusts the shaft speed in less than a single rotation. The unique speed control knob provides the ability to set 10 favorite speed settings between 100-5,000 RPM. The Saturn also offers superior torque performance when operating between 100-1,000 RPM. The DVR’s 1-3/4 HP, 115V motor is direct drive, using one-piece rotors and no pulleys or belts for extremely smooth turning performance and 100% transfer of power to the spindle.
