TeknaTool Nova 1624 II Lathe
Great machine, powerful, quiet, smooth. Changing the belt is not a problem. It can be upgraded later when I get more proficient. The price point is great and allows me to get started without breaking the bank. I would highly recommend the purchase. Had a minor issue with the tool rest but the Teknatool service department took care of it in reasonably short order. Five stars for both the machine and service department.

Love this Lathe
I had not turned since I took a class from Dale Nish at BYU 30 year ago. My Dad bought me this lathe for Christmas and I enjoy it. Changing speeds with the belt is easy and this has enough torque I don't need to change speeds as often as I thought. I turn everything from pens to bowls to acoustic drums and this lathe handles project large and tiny very well. I did get the outboard tool rest arm which is very solid, no matter at all. I use the outboard turning frequently and am so glad I went this lathe instead of a mid size lathe. i can always add DVR motor later for now I'm building up my tool and chuck inventory.
