Werner John is not only a musician, but a man of many talents, including writing, recording, performing and teaching music using his own handcrafted Native American Flutes. As a young boy, Werner found a connection to nature growing up in the New York Hudson River Valley. With artisan parents and grandparents as an example and a woodworking father to learn from, Werner became a carpenter’s apprentice when he was 18, and worked in lumber yards for his college education. In addition to woodworking his other passion was music. As a musician in his 30′s, Werner found himself taking on 12 students left behind by his former Austrian instructor. This confirmed in Werner’s heart and mind that he had something to offer others in music education. He soon finished college and became a teacher, while performing and recording in Ashville, North Carolina.
Excellent sanding sheets
Used the sandpaper on a fresh walnut bowl, the sheets didn;t clog with wet wood. Finished sanding the bowl in 1/3 the time.
I had heard about Abranet on various turning forums and decided to give it a try. It's absolutely amazing--much more resiliant than sandpaper and gives a great finish!
I purchased a sample package from PSI industries along with other items. Sanding on my lathe used to take a long time working up through the various grades. Using this product cut my sanding time to less than half. Cuts fast & clean with just as good a final finish as I had using the many work up passes that I took before. Wish there was an 80 grade for the rough end grain on the bowls. Dave.
I use this for all my sanding needs. Since I go to sea and can't run to the store for sandpaper, I need something that will last. This is the stuff! It is easy to clean and reuse. And, with its velcro backing, it sticks to sanders' pads very well. The porous backing really enhances a sanders' dust removal system, too.
