This is a low profile splitter that also serves as a mini feather board for the keeper piece behind the saw blade. Simple, exact and extremely effective; cutting results are exceptionally precise and virtually burn free when using the MJ Splitter. Designed to be installed on a zero clearance insert (not included), the MJ Splitter features fool proof installation and a revolutionary concept that provides alignment surfaces of different thicknesses.
Also includes the Auto Kerf Keeper, a dedicated device that engages automatically if the saw kerf begins to close to reduce tension on the MJ Splitter and the saw blade for safer operation.

    Cannot order replacement parts

    Woodcraft does not sell replacement full kerf blue SteelPro Splitters. And you will eventually need them for this.

    Works as advertised

    Takes about 30 minutes to install. Does an excellent job as an anti-kickback protection device. Somewhat tight until several pieces of wood have been cut. After that it works smoothly. I replaced an older version of the same system which died due to age. Over several years I have not had a kickback when I could use the splitter.

    Product works great.

    Product works great if you follow the directions and watch the online videos. I use it instead of the old delta splitter/guard which is awful. I like the two splitter option on this model because it allows you to set it up so both splitters push in opposite directions away from the blade. If you are not using a splitter and want one to reduce kickback but not get in the way, this one works.

    Worked like a charm

    It worked for me. The instructions say you should drill the holes in one shot, without stopping or re-reaming the hole. I did this and had no problems. The splitters work like butter - no more burning the 1.5" maple! The directions are very detailed, and can therefore be confusing. Just understand that you'll need to make two ZCIs for this setup, one for the "double splitter" technique for plywood, MDF, and cross-cutting, and another "splitter & kerf keeper" for ripping solid wood. Lastly, search the MicroJig web site, or YouTube, for the installation video. That's by far the best thing you could do before doing the install.

    Plastic template softens when drilling

    If you buy this product be very careful when you drill as the template can soften due to the heat generated by the drill bit, yielding mis-aligned holes. I wasted 35 dollars, and my ZCI has four unsymmetrical holes in it.
