Wood is a product of nature, and as such, no two pieces are alike to start with, while the same wood growing in different locales can vary greatly even though it is the exact same species.

I love this wood. I have made keyrings, shot glasses and pens from it. looks amazing and turns wonderfully
I made a duck call with this. I was a little concerned after reading others had problems with it cracking after it had been turned. I am happy to report this is still as shiny and beautiful as the day I turned it.
Beware! I am an experienced woodworker, over 35 years, worked with well over 100 species. This stuff went into environmental shock when wax coating was removed. Checked on every surface. It is now useless. I guess you could stabilize it with a bucket full of cyanoacrylate. Maybe.
