Foredom has created the perfect Micromotor Kit for high-speed applications requiring up to 38,000 RPM used for light deburring of cast pieces, bright cutting in jewelry making and fine detailing in wood. Kit includes Control Unit HP4-917, high speed Rotary Handpiece H.MH-170 with 1/8" Collet, variable-speed Foot Control HP4-960, Handpiece Cradle, spare pair of motor brushes, spare fuse, and Collet changing wrenches. Control Unit front has switches for on/off, forward/reverse rotation, and manual/foot speed control. Overload Protection Light comes on, and an alarm sounds if the motor ever stalls. Control Unit back has a voltage selector switch for choosing 110/120 or 220/240 volt operation and receptacles for the variable-speed Foot Control. Control Unit specifications: Width: 4-3/8"; Depth: 5-3/4"; Height: 3-3/4"; Output: DC 30V/1.2 A.

The high-speed Rotary Handpiece has a slender, contoured grip for precise and very high-speed work up to 38,000 RPM. It has a fan cooled, brush-type continuous duty motor that runs cool and vibration free with permanently lubricated, shielded ball bearings that require no lubrication. It comes with a 1/8" Collet that is easy to install and change with supplied collet changing wrench. Burr changes are quick and easy with a simple twist of the front section of the Handpiece. High-speed rotary Handpiece specifications: 6.2" overall length, 5/8" grip diameter, 1" motor diameter, 7.3 oz./208 gr., DC30V/1.2A. CE

Compared to flexible shaft machines, micromotors have less torque; however, their higher speed results in a comparable rate of material removal with a lighter touch. The simple cord connection between the Handpiece Motor and Control Box is another key advantage. Unlike the “drag” and general restriction in movement that you experience with shaft and sheath machines, micromotors offer much greater freedom of movement and control.

Features:

• Precision control for fine detail work

• Quick and easy burr changes

• Kit is equipped with 1/8" collet

• Versatile, switch from manual/foot speed control with just a flip of a switch

• Control unit allows micromotor to work in forward or reverse
