Use as intended
This is best used in metalwork with layout. when a scribe wont make a line or just rough layout. This pen is not intended to be used as an precision marking tool on wood. On metal it is my first layout tool though. it gets in to the small spaces most other marking tools cant.

I can't think of a problem this solves.
This marker seems like a great idea. If you could make a tight sharp mark against your stock, especially for dovetail pins, that would be great. This long-nosed device does place a mark in the same zip code, but not nearly close enough to saw to. The line is much wider than a pencil line, and the ink diffuses into end grain, anyway. I will pick this thing occasionally to mark something non-critical, but can't really think of anything it's very good for.
