  • Economical

    Sweet Solution

Used this to get from the 4" output under my table saw (with the 149581 flex hose in between) to use my shop vac for dust extraction. The 2 1/4 output is the same diameter as the vac hose so a simple coupler got them together. To date no clamps needed anywhere. Very pleased.

Good product but not what I needed

The add doesn't state if the dameter of the reducer is the inner diameter or outter diameter. It should be noted that the diameter stated in the add is the outter diameter, NOT the inner diameter. This reducer is used to connect to a 4" dust collection hose, where the 4" hose fits over the 4" reducer. I purchased the reducer to fit over a 4" dust collection port of a bandsaw, so I needed a 4" inner diameter. Otherwise, it's a quality item at a very reasonable price. And I have to make mention that Woodcraft has an absolute no hassle return policy. They even refunded the cost of the return shipping. 2 thumb up for Woodcraft!

    Does Not

I thought this would connect my shop vacuum to 4" fittings. It does not. It is the opposite. It will connect a 4" hose to a 2 1/2" port.

    Works well

Hooked up to a Ryobi AP1301, which can best be described as having horrible dust collection capabilities. When I used to use my shop vac on this, I would have to stop every few passes to clear clogs of wood chips. After upgrading to a 2HP DC with 4" pipes, I got this to connect to the planer and it works great - zero clogs. The con is it does considerably reduce the CFM of the dust collector, but as a stop gap until I get a better planer this was worth every cent.

    Handy for a change

Use in my wood shop for dust collection . Use a 4" and 2 1/2" line so this comes in handy .
