    Quality Table for the Price

I had to install new inserts in my table since the Porter Cable drill press had a solid metal table and I had already drilled holes for a temporary wood table. I agree it seems very strange that the doesn’t come with at least one standard set of bolts and that the inserts are 6mm. I have only used the table a couple of times so far and it is very good quality for the price. The t channels are solid, well mounted and top is smooth and solid.

    Drill press table attaching screws

Was no mention as to screw size needed. Made 3 trips to hardware store to find out it was M6 screws needed. For the price, screws should've been provided. Wasted 3 hrs trying to find what I needed..

    Good stuff -- BUT...

Yeah, sure, I give it 5 stars -- the table is flat, properly CNC machined, the surface coating and edging are tough and attractive, the hardware is well-spec'd and of good quality, the extruded tracks are smoothly finished and nicely anodized, the flip-stops are solid, well-built, easy to slide and set and use, and the metric/inch rule is easy to read and appears to be well-adhered -- BUT -- Why the 6M mounting inserts, instead of 1/4-20, especially when, as another reviewer mentioned, all the other hardware on the thing is standard??? And why no mention of this fact anywhere in the literature? If you're not going to include mounting bolts, at least print up some stickers to inform the eager installer, and thereby save him or her multiple trips to Lowe's, or mucking up the threads by forcing an almost identical 1/4-20. A small nit on an otherwise solid product -- glad to have it, and I hope this detail gets attended to.

Simply a outstanding deal and drill press table

    1. The packaging was as good as Apple computer products come in 2. The sale price $69.99 for this item was outstanding 3. The quality of this table is great.

    Agree with TO from Forest

There is nothing in the instructions that indicate the size screws to use. They are metric as 'TO from Forest' said. In any event, it's a moot point for me. I recently bought a Nova Voyager drill press and the attachment points are useless to attach this table to it. The holes don't line up in any way. I ended up drilling 3/8" holes halfway through the 1" table (which is easy with the Nova) and put in 1/4" inserts. I have one of those kits of star-knobs and t-slot bolts etc, so I used 2 star-knobs. The other thing is that the table blocks the raise/lower handle for the main table - so I have to loosen 2-star knobs, slide the table forward, raise/lower the table, move the table back and then re-tighten the knobs.

    Poor documentation

This looked like a simple enough addition to my drill press but the documentation (as little as needed) was poor. There are four small tapped inserts to mount it to your drill press the problem is no where does it tell you what the diameter and threads of those inserts are. They ended up being metric M6 fine thread. All the other hardware for this table is imperial thread. I understand their comment not wanting to give the length of the screws necessary to mount it because every drill press is different but they could have given the other dimensions, saving multiple trips to Lowe's to get the right hardware.

A decent table for the price

I had a shop built table that I generally liked. But it was heavy and came too close to the height adjustment crank. So when a friend of mine was helping me move the drill press and broke the table, I wasn't terribly upset. So I was looking for a replacement and not having time or inclination to make one, I found this new release from Wood River. For $100, sure, why not. The table is reasonably nice. I prefer a taller fence as that provides something to hold narrow pieces against, so I took the fence I had on my old table and replaced the provided fence. The mounting holes are designed for tables with mounting slots at 90 degrees. I have a Rigid 15" press which has something closer to 120/60 degree slots. I was only able to use 2 of the mounting holes and still get the table somewhat centered, it's slightly rotated. I might be able to get something more square by using other mounting holes. I may revisit this, but it's fine as it is. To use 3 holes, the table is way off-center. So the mounting hole locations and the short fence earned a 1-star deduction.
