    Fastener Good, Screws Bad

    Used these to repair a chair where the cushion kept coming off the frame. Twisted the head off the first (2) screws I used, so was frustrated aabout the rework I had to do because of it.

    Terrible screws

    I tried to install 6 of these fasteners on an oak table, and even though I drilled pilot holes, 3 of the screws snapped, leaving a wasteland of steel stubs buried in my table apron. I even tried installing one screw with a manual screwdriver instead of a power driver, and I snapped the screw pretty easily with my own modest strength. And even when the screws did go in properly, the countersink on the fastener is just a rounded edge, not a true countersink, so the screw heads don't sit flat.
