This 16-piece forstner bit set from CMT offers a comprehensive range of sizes from 1/4" to 2-1/8" in 1/8" increments. These forstner bits drill clean, flat-bottomed holes and are ideal for use in both stationary and portable drill presses. Forstner bit sizes 3/4" and smaller can be used in electric or cordless drills, but results are not as precise as when used in a drill press . Forstner bits are 3-9/16" long with a 3/8" shank.

Helpful Tips:
- Making repeated shallow cuts and allowing the bit to cool for two or three seconds between passes will increase the life of your forstner bit
- Applying excessive force to the bit while drilling will cause overheating
- Overheating will remove the temper from the forstner bit’s cutting edges
- Use recommended forstner bit speeds according to bit size and use in either softwood or hardwood
