Select cherry handle has also been enlarged and contoured to provide a more natural and comfortable tool. Ideal begginers carving knife

The Butz carving knife makes a great gift for begginers. I have been carving for the last five years with a swiss brand knife and was looking for a afforadable knife. This was a reasonable price for a novice. These were purchased for a nephew, who is beginning to carve small farm animals. The knifes needed some sharpening but are comfortable to grip.

Butz knives are a pain in the...

The local Woodcraft "carving" sales clerk recommended these 4 yrs ago when I started carving. There was no mention of needing to sharpen or how by the store personel. To this day there is no signage at the store or even a sticker on the package stating that the product needs to be fully sharpend to use. I worked at sharpening these knives for 3 months before I went and bought some Flexcuts. If you are a beginner don't waste your money on a Butz knife.
