Bloxygen is a revolutionary product that helps to preserve and extend the life of your finished and paints. Release a small amount of this inert gas into the container prior to closing to form a protective oxygen barrier. Since oxygen does not come into contact with the finishing material, it can not skim over or harden. Never again will you open a half-full can of finishing material only to find it skimmed over or hardened! Save partial cans of paint, varnish, stains and other fine finishes with one simple “shot” of Bloxygen. One can provides protection for approximately 75 applications.

Saves me a ton of money
I do a lot of smaller projects, the kind that might use 1/20 quart of Waterlox, or less, per coat. Without Bloxygen, I've had skin-over begin as early as 10 days after opening, even though I don't keep the quart open longer than it takes to pour some into a working container. One can of Bloxygen has lasted me more than a year, and I no longer waste ANY finish, and I never have to make the hard call to toss semi-old varnish.

Keeps it fresh
Use it for any finish that will not get totally used up and that will sit on the shelf for a time. Found it to be very useful in keeping materials from skinning over as fast as they normally would but sometimes not even this product will stop the process once the can is openned. Better than doing nothing.
