WoodRiver® Dust Connection™ Y-Fittings (also referred to as Y-Connectors) allow you to design a main line and branch line system to service each machine in your shop. Set up a dust collection system for bench top tools using your shop vac, or use the 4" to 2-1/2" reducer and outfit your 4" system with a 2-1/2" hose and accessories. Union fitting is required to connect hoses together, or to other fittings.

    could not fit my 2 1/2" to the fitting.

    Could not fit it to my hose. Both O.D.'s were the same.

    i am using this y fitting on my router table and it does fine.

    A male end would make it easier to use

    The end with the single port needs to be a male end so that it will fit into the shop vac. People who are buying 2 1/2" fittings are probably not using a central system. Female to female couplings are easy to find but not so for male to male couplings.
