Using a number of common, but simple, hand tools, your junior woodworker can create and build their very own Lego inspired coat rack that they can be proud of. Students under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Please wear work clothes and closed toed shoes (wear something that can be ruined). Each student is responsible for supplying their own work gloves and safety glasses.
In this class, you'll learn to make stile and rail cabinet doors. Students will take home their completed doors. As in most cabinet making, the table saw and router table are the main tools used for door construction. Each student is responsible for supplying their own tape measure, steel rule, adjustable square, pencils or other marking device, notebook, safety glasses and hearing protection.
The first step in building cabinets is constructing the "box" or carcass. In this, hands-on, class you will learn the proper techniques to create a strong and durable cabinet carcass. Joinery and assembly techniques for most cabinet applications will be discussed. The Kreg Jig will be demonstrated and used for the face frame assembly. Each student is responsible for supplying their own tape measure, steel rule, adjustable square, pencils or other marking device, notebook, safety glasses and hearing protection.
