This workshop invites beginners to craft their own unique project board with an "ocean pour" epoxy finish, where they will learn fundamental woodworking skills to prepare the board, followed by mixing and pouring epoxy resin to achieve a visually striking wave-like ocean effect, requiring a second visit to pick up their fully cured board once the epoxy has set completely.
This inclusive woodworking class, led by craftsman Eric Gorges, welcomes both beginners and experienced carvers to create a beautiful spoon using the Foredom power carving tool and Kutzall burrs. Eric starts with an introduction to basic tool handling and safety, making the class accessible for those new to woodworking. More advanced carvers are encouraged to explore additional techniques and customize their spoons with intricate details. Under Eric’s guidance, participants will learn to efficiently shape their wooden blocks into custom spoons, with the Kutzall burrs offering control and creativity. The flexible nature of the Foredom tool makes it perfect for precise work as well as more expressive carving styles. By the end of the class, students of all levels will have gained new skills and carved their own unique spoon to take home.
