We will cover woodworking safety; wood as a material; measuring and marking; using and selecting tools for sawing, boring and abrading wood, including hand tools, track saws, table saws, miter saw, band saw, drills, and routers. Each student will get hands on time with tools and should feel confident to start woodworking at home. Students get to go home with a competed project.

Interested in starting CNC Machining/Routing? Topics will include but are not limited to: Vectric V-Carve Software, Next Wave CNC Shark/Piranha Router, CNC Router bits, file set up and output, V-carving (letter engraving), pocket engraving, drilling patterns, creating and editing toolpaths and work set up (material to be machined). There will also be a demonstration of pocket carving.
