Intro to Woodworking

Want to get started in woodworking, but do not have someone to show you how, or the chance to try? We will cover woodworking safety; wood as a material; measuring and marking; using and selecting tools for sawing, boring and abrading wood, including hand tools, track saws, table saws, miter saw, band saw, drills, and routers. Each student will get hands on time with tools and should feel confident to start woodworking at home. Students get to go home with a competed project.




Basic Table-Saw Skills - Table-Saw 101

Saturday, March 23, 5 PM - 8 PM

Learn the basics of the most useful machine in your shop, the table-saw. We will cover the selection of the table-saw blades and accessories. Also, covered will be tune-up and maintenance of the table-saw. The basic safety rules will be covered and stressed. Using square stock, instructor will demonstrate the safe way to complete basic cuts, which are the basis for most table-saw operations. Each student will have an opportunity to practice the basic cuts in class.
