Simple Shaker Clock

Many scrollers create intarsia as stand-alone decorations, but with a bit of creativity, you can embellish a wide variety of projects with intarsia. The classic styling of this shaker clock makes it an appealing project to accent most décors. You can customize the clock with a wide variety of intarsia designs, or even use fretwork on the bottom door panel for a broader range of possibilities. The lower door design features a removable panel which allows you to create several designs that can be changed seasonally.

I designed the project to be made from standard sized pine boards available at most retailers, so you do not need a table saw to rip the lumber to size. Cut the pieces to the dimensions listed in the materials list. Use the measured cutting guide for the center divider. The half-lap joints of the doors are cut on a scroll saw.
