“Using a T-Square and the feel of a lead holder have an artistic element not found in computer drawing,” said Young. “With the introduction of Woodcraft’s new Pinnacle line of marking and measuring tools, I thought this would be a good opportunity to give woodworkers a set of plans to build their own Drafting Table for designing their projects.”
Young designed the table featured on the cover of our Spring Catalog to be used around the shop as a portable solution for conceptual sketches and woodworking design projects. Constructed of Hard Maple (legs) and Curly Maple (rails and drawer) with a ¾” thick black MDF top. The drawing surface is covered with a Vinyl board. The legs and rails are joined with floating-tenon joinery (FESTOOL Dominos). The table can be used on a benchtop and be stored away when not in use. And it pairs perfectly with the new line of Pinnacle tools now available at Woodcraft.
