Woodworkers value the bandsaw for its versatility in cutting wood, but the Rikon Meat Saw available at Woodcraft reveals another side of a bandsaw’s capability. “In addition to woodworking, we found that many of our customers enjoy hunting or they raise livestock and prefer to process the meat themselves, rather than rely on someone else,” Woodcraft power tool sales manager Andrew Bondi said. “At Woodcraft we offer a one-stop source for whatever type of bandsaw they need.”
Designed for meat cutting, the 10″ Rikon Meat Saw (Bandsaw) is powered by a 3/4 HP TEFC motor that can handle big cutting jobs, including most fresh and frozen meat. Two adjustable fences guide and support the meat on the sliding tabletop. The built-in grinder with 4-1/2″ throat processes meat into patties or links.
“Rikon built this 167-lb. bandsaw for serious cutting,” Bondi said. “The body is heavy-duty gauge steel sheet, with a 9-5/8″ throat, and the 22-7/16″ x 17-5/16″ stainless steel table, with ball bearing sliding mount, provides a large work area. Plus Rikon covers the saw with a five-year limited warranty.”
