Easily flatten large slabs, table top glue-ups, epoxy resin counter or table tops, or other large projects that don't easily fit into standard floor model equipment for a much lower cost. The Manual Feed allows the user to directly push the router back and forth across and down the length of the slab, providing more movement control. For use with a standard 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 HP router and a 1" to 3" diameter router bit, not included. With the addition of the Threaded Cross Feed to the base system you now have the ability to easily index your router across the bridge, which allows you the unique ability to pin the router in place and cut with the grain of the project rather than going cross-grain. Doing it in this manner drastically reduces the number of passes required to complete a project and results in a much more consistent surface, requiring less finish sanding. With a 2:1 mix ratio, it’s only slightly thicker than other penetrating sealers, but that’s a good thing. Low viscosity and 100% solids formula means more material to fill the grain, seal the wood more completely, and provide extended protection against rot-causing moisture. TotalBoat Penetrating Epoxy cures slightly slower in order to create a hard, waterproof surface that not only prevents rot but provides a stable coating so varnish, primer, or paint will adhere more tenaciously. Since it sticks better, it will stay stronger longer to keep UV-resistant topcoats from failing. The longer cure time is definitely worth the longer-lasting protection and the time and money you saved preserving existing wood.

TotalBoat Thick Set Fathom is simply the best deep-pour epoxy for thick casting applications. Pour single layers up to 3" deep in prepared molds or pour live edge slabs and river tables up to 2" deep per layer. The thicker pour depths are possible due to the low amount of heat Fathom generates and the extremely slow cure time. This clear epoxy can be tinted with mica powder, alcohol inks, universal tints and pigment paste dispersions. Mix with a simple 2:1 ratio by volume. Once cured, the surface is BPA-free and safer for food contact.
After Thick Set Fathom’s resin and hardener components have been mixed thoroughly, you have anywhere from 2-4 hours to pour your castings or molds. Work time depends on the volume of mixed epoxy as well as the temperature of the air in your workspace. The ideal application temperature range is 60-80°F. NOTE: Thick Set Fathom is an advanced deep pour epoxy system. Do not use in working temperatures above 80°F.

About This Product

Curly Katalox is not actually a species, but simply a description of figure in the grain. Katalox (Swartzia spp.) heartwood is dark reddish brown to nearly black, sometimes with a strong purple hue. Sapwood is sharply demarcated and is pale yelllowish white. Grain is usually straight. Pieces with curly or wavy grain are not uncommon. Katalox has exceptional strength properties, and is among the very stiffest and strongest woods available worldwide. Katalox is considered difficult to work on account of its high density. The wood has a moderate to high blunting effect on cutters. Common uses include inlays, fine furniture and cabinetry, parquet flooring, guitars, turnings and other small specialty items. Slab measures 1-1/4" x 14-1/2" x 45" and has been surfaced on both sides.
